The Arch & Design material presets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In October of 2006, Autodesk implemented a material type called the “Arch & Design” material for the 3d Studio Max implementation of mental ray. \u00a0This material type is an elaborate construct of mental ray shaders and includes a useful set of preset material configurations that- with proper lighting- can make any render look special.<\/p>\n

Today we’re going to take a deep dive into each one of these mental ray material presets. \u00a0By the end of this tutorial you’ll have a firm grasp over what each material does and when to use it. \u00a0One thing I’d like to note is that the 3dsMax documentation in this area is spectacular.<\/p>\n
