Hey Everyone.
This week we’re looking at how you can create a reel-to-reel film material in 3dsMax. I’ll walk you through how to blend opacity mapped materials with translucent mental ray materials, and I’ll also give you a few pointers about how to animate the technique!

cool tutorial and I’ve been waiting for this!…..but I am a bit confused and will wait for the scene download to see for sure.
Not sure how you’re using 4 different mat. slots onto one object.
Been using max since version 5 and didn’t realize you could.
Then again I just woke up about 10 minutes ago.

oh duh!! I got it now…you’re just dragging them to edit them in their slots.

Heh, yah. Sorry about that- CamStudio isn’t super-great at showing you when I’m clicking or holding down the mouse button.
BTW: the file upload is going to be delayed this week- my computer went nuclear and I’m still sorting through the fallout.
