Hey everyone,
Sorry for the delay. This week’s video tutorial is part 2 from last week where we talked about the matte/shadow material type in the scanline renderer. This week, we’re looking at how you can use matte/shadow materials in the mental ray renderer and we’ll use a quick-and-dirty camera matching technique along with it.

Thanks for the video. I’ve never been able to get mr matte/shadow to play nice with hair&fur. That makes me a sad panda.

Hi there,
that’s cool for still compositing, but…how do you do that for animated background?
thanks

I agree with the questions about the animated background. I can’t find an easy way to do with the animation BUT if you do a still and match it up it works like a charm. There IS a tutorial in the help file for max but it uses a still background as well.
Is it even possible to do it with an animated background?
