This Monday Movie is pretty short and to the point. I show you the benefits of using area lights as objects in 3dsMax. In this way, you don’t have to model actual light objects (like bulbs or window glass).

Hey! you forgot to say “Happy Renderings”!! 😉
Thank you for taking the time to make these. They’re really instructive.
PS: May I ask what are your computer specifications (RAM, Video Card, OS, etc)?

Oh no! You’re right! I stopped doing that a while ago, RP. I’m glad you’re still a viewer, though. ^__^
I just built my rig a little while ago. Here’s the rundown:
Windows Vista 64 Pro
ASUS Maximus II Formula Mobo
4GB Ram DDR2 1200
BFG GeForce 280 GTX
Intel Quad 9550 Yorkfield 2.83Ghz CPU
The only thing I’ll say is that the graphics card is big. Very big. In fact, if you take a sheet of ordinary 8.5×11 office paper and fold it in half length wise, that’s about the size of the card (4×12).

It is also one large brick it fits the tower barley and that is scary. 🙂

I think all the new cards will be large due to all the Tec that is stuffed into them. 😉
