This took me way too long to find out on my own, so let me make it as clear as possible so that it never has to be asked again.
Where is the SD Card Slot on the G1 Android?
Slide your nail under the tab just below the green “call” button, and pull off the little plastic cover (the size is about as big as the profile of a nickle). It’ll dangle off the side of the phone, and the microSD card uses a click-in/click-out locking mechanism, so push it in and it’ll pop out.

I upgraded the memory card on my T-Mobile G1 phone. I did not realize the importance of the memory card slot cover and it was knocked off my desk and I am unable to find it. After my card failed to mount, a bit of research showed that this cover depresses the little switch that turns the card on & off.
T-Mobile does not offer that piece, a search of the myriad of internet phone stores failed as well.
Any ideas where can I order this cover? Although my phone is brown, I don’t care what color the cover is.
If all else fails, I could go ninja on it and come up with some sort of workaround.
